PARLIAMENT of MALAYSIA, 5 January – The Hon. Senator Datuk Abd Ghani bin Datuk Haji Mohamed Yassin, the Branch Leader cum Pekan Pensiangan UMNO Division Chief took his oath of office as a Senator for the first term at Dewan Negara, Parliament of Malaysia

Hon. Senator Datuk Abd Ghani bin Datuk Haji Mohamed Yassin, 57 was appointed as a Senator for the first term commencing from 5 January 2018 until 5 January 2021.
 
He is active in political world and among the posts he previously held were:
  • Supreme Council Member of Sabah USIA
  • Division Chief of Pensiangan USIA
  • Former Deputy Chairman of Sabah Land Development Berhad (SLDB) (2008-2014)
  • Branch Leader cum Division Chief of Pekan Pensiangan UMNO
