PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA, 7 March – His Majesty the King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah officiates the opening ceremony for the fourth session of the thirteenth Parliament.

The arrival of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, Tuanku Hajah Haminah at 10 am are received by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, H.E Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Pandikar Amin Mulia and the President of the Senate, H.E Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang.
Also present to receive His Majesty the King and Queen are the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and wife, Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor, and Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Dato' Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
His Majesty Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah dan Tuanku Hajah Haminah are presented with a “Royal Salute” from the Guards of Honour led by Major Mohd Eqram Mohd Rosli. The Guards of Honour consist of 4 officers and 103 other ranks and are from the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment.
The national anthem, “Negaraku” is then played by the band from the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment followed by a 21-Gun Salute.

After the ceremony at the Parliament Square, His Majesty Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Her Majesty Tuanku Hajah Haminah proceed to the Royal Chamber for a photography session before going to the House of Representatives.
The House of Representatives will be in session for 20 days until 7 April 2016 while the Senate will sit for 11 days from 18 April to 4 May 2016.
