The tabling of the Mid-Term Review of the Eleventh Malaysian Plan by The Hon. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the House of Representatives 
 

Kuala Lumpur, 18 October – The Mid Term Review of the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (MTR-11MP), 2016-2020 was tabled by The Hon. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia before His Excellency Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dato’ Mohamad Ariff bin Md Yusof at the House of Representatives, Parliament of Malaysia.


In general, the 11MP is the last phase towards achieving the status of developed and inclusive country in tandem with Wawasan 2020. With the theme ‘Anchoring Growth on People’, the focus is on the prosperity and wellbeing of the people. The MTR-11MP reports on the achievements achieved during the period of 2016-2017 as well as outlines the policies and socioeconomic strategies which have been restructured for the period of 2018-2020 by taking into account the new Government's priorities in the 14th General Election.

 

The MTR-11MP document is divided into two sections:

  1. Reporting on the performance of the chosen outcomes, targets, strategies, and initiatives during the review period, 2016-2017.
  2. Setting up the direction towards a better Malaysia during the last phase of the plan, 2018-2020.

The MTR-11MP focuses on the six major pillars comprising of:

  1. Reforming governance towards a greater transparency and enhancing the efficiency of public service.
  2. Enhancing inclusive development and wellbeing of the people.
  3. Pursuing balanced regional development.
  4. Empowering human capital.
  5. Enhancing environmental sustainability through green growth.
  6. Strengthening economic growth.

 

In this matter, the new priorities and emphases are based on the six pillars which will focus on reforming governance towards a greater transparency and enhancing the efficiency of public service, enhancing inclusive development and wellbeing, pursuing balanced regional development, empowering human capital, enhancing environmental sustainability and, strengthening the economic growth.
