Friday, 3 October 2014 – Basic computer knowledge is very important nowadays and it is very useful to almost everyone whether in education, business or for work purposes. Aware of the situation, Training and Competency Unit, Human Resource Management and Innovation Section, Management Division has organized a Microsoft Word and Excel Course at the National Institute of Land and Survey (INSTUN), Tanjung Malim, Perak. Up to 32 officers has participated in the course that was held from 30 September to 2 October 2014.

The main objective of the course was to give exposure and to increase the knowledge on the functions of Microsoft Word and Excel in order to produce work document faster and more systematic by using a consistent format. Other than that, through the exposure during the course, it will also make it easier to produce work document.

On the first day of the course, En. Sulaimi Ahmad, Information Technology Officer from INSTUN has delivered a lecture on the Introduction to Microsoft Word 2010, Basic Document Functions and Schedule Construction. On the second day, Pn. Aminah Anuar, Assistant Information Technology Officer gave a lecture on the Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2010, Basic Functions of Excel and the ways on how to use the formula in Microsoft Excel. To test the understanding of each participant, a test session was conducted on the last day.

A Closing Ceremony and Handing of Course Certificate Ceremony were held on 2 October 2014 at 1pm by the Chief Administrator of Parliament, Datuk Lamien Sawiyo. Also present were both speakers, En. Sulaimi Ahmad and Pn. Aminah Anuar. The ceremony ended at about 2pm.
