Monday, 7 October 2013 - A working visit by YB Senator Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, President of the Senate, accompanied by Datuk Zamani Hj. Sulaiman, Secretary of the Senate, together with 30 officers of Parliament of Malaysia was held from 2 to 4 October 2013.

During the visit, the President of the Senate and his entourage visited the Office of Kedah Menteri Besar and State Secretary at Wisma Darul Aman and met with Dato' Paduka Hj. Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.

During the visit, the Kedah Menteri Besar has given a briefing to the President of the Senate and his entourage. They also had the opportunity to mingle with the officers and staff at the Office of Menteri Besar and State Secretary.

The President of the Senate and the entourage were also brought to visit the Kedah State Legislative Assembly. The visit was accompanied by YAB Dato' Paduka Hj. Mukhriz Tun Mahathir and Dato' Paduka Md.Rozai Bin Shafian, the Speaker of Kedah State Legislative Assembly. Indirectly, this visit provides an opportunity for members of the delegation to have a closer look at the chamber used during the meeting of Kedah State Legislative Assembly.

Other activity held during the visit was a briefing by Kedah Economic Planning Unit (EPU) which was presented by En. Ammar bin Dato' Shaikh Mahmood Nain who served as Deputy Director 1, Economic Planning Unit. The briefing covered on development projects to be carried out in Kedah.
