PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA – Eight Members of the Senate sworn-in as Senators before H.E. Senator Tan Sri Dato’ Sri SA. Vigneswaran, President of the Senate and witnessed by the Deputy President of the Senate, Hon. Senator Datuk Seri Haji Abdul Halim bin Abd. Samad, on 17 July at the Senate, Main Block of Parliament.

Six out of the eight new Senators are appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong while another two are appointed by the Terengganu and Kelantan State Legislative Assembly respectively. The term for these new Senators will begin from 17 July 2018 until 16 July 2021.

Senators appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong are:

1. Hon. Senator Datuk Haji Ismail bin Ibrahim – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

2. Hon.  Senator Dato’ Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah bin Raja Ahmad – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

3. Hon.  Senator Dr. Mohd Radzi bin Md. Jidin – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

4. Hon.  Senator Tuan Haji Marzuki bin Yahya – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

5. Hon.  Senator Tuan Waytha Moorthy a/l Ponnusamy – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

6. Hon.  Senator Tuan Liew Chin Tong – Appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

Senators appointed by the State Legislative Assembly are:

1. Hon.  Senator Dato’ Haji Husain bin Awang – Appointed by Terengganu State Legislative Assembly

2. Hon.  Senator Puan Asmak binti Husin – Appointed by Kelantan State Legislative Assembly
