Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V gave his royal speech during the opening of the First Meeting of the Sixth Session of the Thirteenth Parliament.

PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA, 5 March – The Opening of the Sixth Session of The Thirteenth Parliament of Malaysia was held on 5 March. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V gave his royal speech during the opening of the First Meeting of the Sixth Session of the Thirteenth Parliament. Also present were the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. This parliament sitting would be the last meeting before the 14th General Election.

 

In the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s royal speech:

1. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong expressed his thankfulness that despite the global economic uncertainties, the Government still remains focused and committed to the implementation of the fiscal transformation policies and prudent management of the country’s economy and finance.
2. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong commended the continuous measures taken by the Government in addressing the issues that are close to the hearts and minds of the people especially those pertaining to the cost of living
3. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is confident that the public transport infrastructure projects, which are now in various stages of implementation, will bring economic spillover for the people.
