PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA, 10 December 2020 (Thursday) - Parliament of Malaysia has held the 5th COVID-19 screening test on all Members of the House of Representatives, Senators and Parliament staff including the entire media staff, Ministry officers on Parliament duty, cleaning contractor workers and security personnel involved throughout the Parliament session.

This screening programme is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia led by Dr. Murugesu Raju, Medical Officer, Head of Parliament Clinic and Health Advisor of Parliament of Malaysia. This screening is mandatory to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government. This decision was also made by both H.E. Senator Tan Sri Dato' Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, President of the Senate and H.E. Datuk Azhar Azizan Bin Harun, Speaker of the House of Representatives to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the Parliament in particular and the country in general during the Third Meeting of the Third Session of the Fourteenth Parliament starting from 2 November 2020 to 23 December.

Almost two thousand people have been screened in this programme which is held every fourteen days as recommended by the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health Malaysia. – CORPORATE COMMUNICATION DIVISION, PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA
