Contract Information For Phase 3A
MoreHanding Over Ceremony For Phase 3A
MoreThe Handing Over Ceremony for Upgrading And Restoration Works of Parliamentary Building of Malaysia (Phase 3A) was successfully held at the Marquee Tent, comprising the Temporary House of Parliament of Malaysia on July 18, 2017 (Tuesday).The handover of the project was completed by YBrs Deputy Director General of Works (Building Sector). Mr. Kamaluddin bin Hj. Abd Rashid to YBhg. Datuk Awang Alik bin Jeman as the Chief Administrator of the Parliament of Malaysia.
Phase 3A of this project is among the several phases of the JKR project implemented to ensure that the Malaysian Parliament's complex infrastructure is up to date in terms of technical integrity and building security, as well as creating a more efficient mechanical and electrical support system in line with the latest technical advances .
This project has been implemented on a conventional 6.71 acre site with a cost of almost RM22.6 Million. The main contractor, SPA Integrated Sdn. Bhd. company was appointed through procurement by open tender. Construction started on 3rd November 2014 and was completed on the original date of completion on 2nd November 2016 without any extension of time.
Among the facilities provided in Phase 3A are:
i) mechanical block and electrical block that houses the latest M & E equipment that replaces the old annex block;
ii) nursery office;
iii) storage stores for more organized equipment;
iv) more strategic location for guard house and refuse chamber ; and
v) an underground 100m underground tunnel that integrates all infrastructure in support of other major blocks in this Parliament complex.
